Today, officials from the New York International Beer Competition released its 2021 award winners, and Third Wheel Brewing in St. Peters, Missouri earned several awards, including best Missouri Brewery.
For the past decade, the NYIBC has been a day for some of the top minds in the New York area beverage industry to gather together and take a deep dive into the world of beer. But, due to the current conditions in New York, the 10th Annual competition was done via a virtual format.

In addition to the Missouri Brewery of the Year, one of their best, Saint Peter’s Porter earned a GOLD medal under the category of Robust Porter, $11 â $15.
Saint Petersâ Porter was actually one of head brewer Abbey Spencersâ first homebrew recipes. It was originally inspired by Founders Porter, a lovely, chocolatey, smooth delicious Robust Porter.
Over the years, it has gone through many changes to reach what it is today. âWe originally wanted to make a dark beer that didnât have as much coffee and burnt flavors as a stout, but still had a kick of alcohol and sweetness,â said Spencer. âWe received several homebrew awards over the years for the beer, and we were excited to scale up on a professional system at Third Wheel.â
In addition, Weiner Art Cerveza was awarded a BRONZE medal in the category of Vienna-Style Lager, $11 â $15.
Roughly translated as “Beer from Vienna,” this Mexican Lager traces its roots back to the 1800s in Austria when dark beers were first emerging. Slightly sweet and toasty malt is balanced by a hint of earthy hops and a dry finish that will keep you coming back for more.
Congratulations to Abbey, Megan, and our entire team!
