Urban Chestnut’s revival of O’Fallon beers is no longer theoretical. It’s happening in coolers right now.

Two longtime winter favorites—O’Fallon Dad’s Original Oatmeal Stout and O’Fallon Vanilla Wafer Cream Ale—have returned to store shelves this week, marking another concrete step in bringing the shuttered St. Louis brewery’s catalog back to life. Both beers are available at Urban Chestnut’s Grove Brewery retail store and through select craft beer retailers around the region.

The releases follow Urban Chestnut’s acquisition of O’Fallon’s full beer portfolio after the brewery closed in 2024, a move that signaled an effort to preserve a recognizable piece of local beer history rather than let it disappear. From the outset, Urban Chestnut said the goal wasn’t to reinvent these beers, but to bring them back the way drinkers remembered them. This week’s releases suggest that promise is being taken seriously.

Dad’s Original Oatmeal Stout has long been a cold-weather standby in St. Louis, known for its smooth body, gentle roast and approachable sweetness. It’s a beer that historically appealed to both stout devotees and casual winter drinkers alike, making it a reliable seasonal grab when temperatures dip.

Vanilla Wafer Cream Ale occupies a different lane entirely. Designed as a dessert-style beer, it leans into vanilla-forward sweetness and nostalgia, echoing the flavors of the cookie that inspired its name. For years, it carved out a devoted following among drinkers who gravitate toward sweeter winter releases and pastry-adjacent styles.

Together, the two beers signal how Urban Chestnut appears to be approaching the O’Fallon brand: start with the recognizable, bring back what people actually miss and rebuild trust one release at a time. While earlier plans pointed to fall seasonals like O’Fallon Pumpkin Beer as part of the revival, the arrival of these winter releases shows the broader catalog is already moving back into rotation.

More O’Fallon beers are expected to follow in the coming months as Urban Chestnut continues reintroducing legacy releases alongside its own lineup. For now, the message is simple: O’Fallon beers are back, and they’re not just a memory.
