If you’re a fan of Rockwell Beer, here’s some news for you, the brewery is celebrating its 2nd anniversary this weekend, with friends and special releases.
Rockwell Beer celebrating 2nd anniversary with special releases
It’s hard to believe it’s been 2 years since Rockwell opened its doors. The journey to get here has been a long one that I’ve followed for years. In 2018, I wrote: … “after 4 years as part of the Perennial team, Andy Hille began forging his own plans, eventually leaving Perennial in July of 2016, just a few months after announcing Rockwell would become his new creative outlet.”
Now, Rockwell is ready to celebrate, with new beer, old friends, and of course amazing food.
The Beer
Their newest beer, Party Hat, is the aptly named, official 2nd-anniversary beer. A Saison, its a slightly beefed-up version of the base Saison that becomes Polymath. Head brewer Jonathan Moxie added Belgian Candi sugar as well as another expressive ale strain to the house Saison strain.
Party Hat pours a golden straw yellow that smells of orange oil, lemon rind, Juicy Fruit chewing gum, and white pepper. It tastes of citrus and whipped meringue with an earthy, soft-dry finish. It will be available in cans and on draft.
Another special beer will be on draft. Moonbase: Castillo, which combines their popular Moonbase robust porter with Sump’s Colombia Castillo naturally processed coffee. Expect notes of boozy winey fruit, heavy dark chocolate, lime, and dark grape. Draft only at the brewery.
Look for on-draft surprises from brewing friends Perennial Artisan Ales, Wellspent Brewing, 2nd Shift Brewing, and Side Project Brewing, throughout the weekend.
