There are few festivals as enduring and as impressively organized as The Centennial Beer Festival. Now in its 11 year, Centennial is set to kick off February 19th, for 5 days of all sorts of beer loving fun. At my count, 97 breweries of varying sizes and geography will be pouring their brews for you.
Centennial is held in the Lafayette Square neighborhood of St. Louis, in a restored malt house built in 1876 for the Schnaider Brewery. There are multiple historical rooms to explore while you taste the more than 200 beers. That is a lot of brew.
Special this year is the return of the Cellar tasting tent sponsored by St. Louis Football Club. There they will feature a special released beer every hour on the half hour on the second floor at the STLFC tent until it runs out. The selections are still to be announced.
Now, if you have attended Centennial in the past, but have never attended the Brewmaster’s Dinner, you may want to give this year’s event a look-see. This year’s 10th annual dinner is hosted by Old Bakery, and a handful of seats are still available. The dinner is 5 courses, each paired with one of the best from the Alton brewery.

The Beer
Now, ladies and gents, let’s get to the beer. And there will be a lot of beer. The general pouring sessions begin on Friday, with one – 3-hour session running from 6 to 9 p.m. This session will also include tastings of the 5th annual Home Brewers Competition. Tickets for this session are $42.00
Saturday, you have your choice two sessions, on beginning at 2 p.m. and going till 5 p.m. and an evening session beginning at 6 p.m. and running till 9 p.m. Tickets for these sessions are $45.00
There is also a VIP option available, but only for the Saturday sessions. VIP will give you special access to special beers that will only be available with this ticket. The VIP experience is an additional $25.00 and you can purchase tickets here. The list of available beers, via the VIP, is just below.
