This week at the bottle shop | Craft Beer Cellar – Clayton

As much time as I spend visiting local breweries and consuming locally produced beers, I spend just as much time visiting and staring at bottles of beer on the shelves of many local bottle shops and stores. I find it almost cathartic to stare at beer.  Nontheless, I’m on everyone’s email list so to make life easier for you, I’ll post up what everyone has, when I get the info.

Time to see what’s new around town, based on the most recent info gathered.  Tonight….

Flight Of The Month

I’m a big believer in beer flights, as they allow me to try so much more in one session.

CBC does a nice job assembling a flight list based on the best selling, most exciting, and top staff picks throughout the store.  Here’s the list for February, available on Friday, February 2 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Nightmare on Brett
Easily one of the best beers in the store, Crooked Stave re-released this monster sour in 750ml and THEN drastically reduced the price. Now it’s difficult to keep on the shelves!
  • Alpine Pure Hoppiness
So.. sad news… Alpine is LEAVING our market. Possibly forever! Have you tried Pure Hoppiness yet? If you’re a hop head, we highly recommend you load up before it disappears for good.
  • Charleville Aphelion
A delicious collaboration Imperial Stout between Charleville, Pinckney Bend, and Abbey Spencer from Third Wheel Brewing. It’s aged in Rye Whiskey barrels with real Madagascar vanilla beans.
  • Modern Odinson
Modern kills it with this SMASH IPA (single malt and single hop). Super citrusy and absolutely delicious.
  • 4 Hands Bona Fide
Shockingly limited this year, Bona Fide is a huge, rich Imperial Stout with Coffee, Vanilla, and Chocolate. And it’s always a fan favorite.

French Press Flights

This is new to me, never tried this, so this may be a must try on Saturday, February 3.  They load up some French presses and infuse some fantastic beers from this line up!

  • Sump Coffee Imperial Stout
We all know that Sump Coffee is amazing and of course it appears in one of our local favorites. They’re going to infuse that coffee into one of their favorite Imperial Stouts, Prairie Bomb!
  • Mango & Habanero IPA
A little bit of sweet and a little bit of heat. That’s exactly what Evil Twin Lost Souls needs. Watch this delicious beer get taken to the extreme!
  • Sour Patch Kids Sour Ale
Sour, sour, and more sour! Funkwerks Raspberry Provincial is a delicious American Wild Ale fermented with raspberries. Well time to crank it up a notch and smash some Sour Patch Kids in for good measure??
