Beer + Pumpkin + Gallagher + Grunge Rock = Smashing Pumpkins!

Pumpkin beers ain’t for everyone.

I’ve heard this before, but now I know it to be true.  In fact, I’m learning that there are a few of you out there willing to take your dislike for pumpkin beers to a Gallagher like level.

The spirit of Billy Corgan and his bandmates will be alive and well as St. Louis pumpkin beer haters will converge on the downtown Flying Saucer Draught Emporium for their first ever pumpkin smashing extravaganza on the first day of fall, Friday, September 22 at 7 p.m.

Fall means pumpkins and pumpkin beer, but Flying Saucer apparently isn’t having it.  In fact, the emporium is turning their loath for pumpkin beer into a chance to blast some 90s rock and smash some pumpkins on their patio.

And as a fall beer alternative, Saucer is partnering with Deschutes Brewery to kick off the debut of their autumn IPA, Hopzeit, which will be available anywhere Deschutes beers are sold.

Lastly, they’ll highlight the things pumpkin does right (pie, carving, seeds etc)…just no pumpkin beer. With the purchase of a Deschutes beer, they will hand you a pumpkin and a mallet. Beer + Pumpkin + Gallagher + Grunge Rock = Smashing Pumpkins!

Absolutely no pumpkin beers will be available!
