Father’s Day should be all about beer and the old guy you first drank it with

I remember my first sip of beer.  I am positive it was 1976, and I was 8. I remember it because I remember puking on a fire hydrant in St. Louis, and if you remember the fire hydrants in St. Louis in 1976, you’ll remember they were painted in patriotic colors.

I threw up on a red, white and blue fire hydrant.

I got the beer from my dad.  He of course didn’t know  it, but it was his garage refrigerator so it’s his fault.  I have no idea why, at 8 years old I felt the need to try a beer, but I’m guessing it was all the patriotic Budweiser commercials that were on everyday.

With another Father’s Day approaching, I’m seeing out beer related events that I might share with my dear old dad, and that you might find useful as ideas for yourself.  Hopefully this list will grow, and if you are aware of any I’ve missed, please email them to me at [email protected]
