Maifest is a traditional German Festival marking the end of the long dark winter and the beginning of warm weather and springtime. Itâs a time of reawakening and joy! Best of all, itâs a fun reason to have a party.
The day begins with the hoisting of the maibaum and continues with music, dancing and of course beer consumption. Locally, St. Charles Sister Cities is the host for Midwest Maifest. Sister Cities facilitates educational, cultural and economic exchanges between her sister cities. Maifest is a fundraiser for these exchanges.
This Year’s Event
Midwest Maifest is a one-day festival to celebrate the arrival of Spring and the rich German heritage in St. Charles County. The festivities will include product samples from local craft breweries, wineries and spirit distilleries. This year’s participants include:
