Saturday’s are made for “beer brunch”

There are few things better than a leisurely brunch.

We love sleeping in, then getting up and pouring that first cup of coffee and thinking “hmmm, let’s have brunch.”

Well, to enjoy this one you need to plan ahead and odds are you need to plan fast.

Executive Chef Nick Blue of Brasserie by Niche has announced he’s partnering with recent James Beard semifinalist Side Project Brewing in Maplewood for the next installment of his Brasserie Beer Brunch series.

On Saturday, March 19, Blue will serve a special 2-course meal with beer pairings as part of a brunch series.

Past collaborations include Urban Chestnut and 4 Hands Brewing, and an upcoming brunch will take place with Civil Life Brewing on April 16, 2016.

“This series has been really fun for me,” said Chef Blue. “I truly appreciate the amazing beer scene that we have here in St. Louis, and this allows us to showcase how the beers pair with our food.”

For the Side Project Brewing brunch, guests will choose between three seatings at 10:30 a.m., noon, and 1:30 p.m. The beer brunch is expected to sell out quickly, and seating is limited. Tickets must be purchased in advance here for $36, inclusive of tax and gratuity.

The menu pairs with Side Project’s acclaimed beers of Grisette, Leaner, Noir Du Fermier, The Scribe, and Biere Du Pays.

The menu and pairings will be:

Pork Schnitzel with buttermilk biscuit and Pommes Dauphine

Leaner, a saison with Missouri Flamin’ Fury peaches

or

Farmer’s Breakfast with croissants, cheeses, Boyonne ham, crudité and jam

Grisette, a farmhouse table beer aged in wine barrels with Brettanomyces for six months

And

Coffee Panna Cotta with caramelized clementine and cocoa nib granite

Noir du Fermier, a black saison

or

Lingonberry Clafoutis with beer whipped cream

The Scribe, a sour ale aged with raspberries, cherries and black currants
