Today in beer, whiskey and wine around St. Louis

Tonight’s writing beer: The Beauty from Center Ice Brewing.

“We brewed this IPA with fresh orange zest, resulting in a delightfully bright citrus nose. The perfect dose of hops balances things out before a crisp, dry finish.”

Here is what I found today that every beer and whiskey lover in St. Louis needs to know.

White Rooster Beer at TWCP

Last year I finally made my way to Sparta, Illinois for a long-awaited visit to White Rooster Farmhouse Brewery. Since then, I’ve never seen White Rooster’s beer sold in St. Louis, and while that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been round, I was thrilled to learn that The Wine And Cheese Place has some.

Right now you can order bottles of the following White Rooster gems.

White Rooster Infusion….$16.99 / 500ml
Sour ale with hibiscus, ginger, turmeric, holy basil and black tea

White Rooster Four Point Five…$11.99 / 500ml
Grisette Ale
4.5% ABV

New Whiskey from Michter’s

…. Michter’s Distillery has announced its newest release, a 10 Year Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon. This sippin’ whiskey changes nicely in the glass and makes you want to spend more time with it. It has the characteristic complexity and rich toffee signature while also presenting rich fruit like plum and roasted pecan nuts. It is a mature whiskey without being overly oaked.” The Michter’s 10-Year-Old Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey will go on sale in May with a suggested retail price of $130 per bottle.

Patio and Tasting Room Open

… The Montelle Winery tasting room is back open.  But for safety reasons, please be aware of space, table, and seating adjustments to allow for the recommended 6-foot social distancing, federal and local government guidelines. They’ll have capacities set for indoor traffic and the number of people that can serve at the tasting bar safely at one time. Masks, while not required, are appreciated indoor while not sampling at the tasting bar.

Heading Back

…  With Missouri slowly opening back up, the Missouri Craft Brewers Guild would like to know how you’re feeling about getting back out to visit breweries, brewpubs and attending beer festivals. Please take a few minutes to answer this brief survey: https://forms.gle/FPN9jH4pNcn61hPZ8.

New Beer Alert

Introducing the most complex beer we’ve brewed to date: the Stick Around IPA – a generously-hopped & dry-hopped IPA with hibiscus flowers, juniper berries, freshly hand-zested lime, and wildflower honey.

An ode to the days of sticking around and having a beer. We can’t wait for you to try this one!

It is now available at www.centericebrewery.com
