It just seems like yesterday.
One of my first articles posted on this blog back in 2015, was about the new brewery in Alton, Illinois. The brewery, Old Bakery Beer Company was unique in that it was the only certified organic brewery in the St. Louis area. Since then the brewery and restaurant have grown to be a staple of the Alton community and their beer is now distributed throughout Southern Illinois and the St. Louis metro.
Now Old Bakery is turning 4 and it’s time to celebrate with a Buzzâd Beer Festival! The festival is March 31st at the brewery.
The highlight of the year’s festival is the release of Old Bakery’s anniversary beer. This year’s beer will be a Rum Barrel-aged Belgian Quadrupel. It’ll be a big boy, coming in somewhere around 9% abv, and 35 IBU.
This ticketed festival will feature more than 25 local artisan beverage producers (including breweries, cideries, distilleries, & a coffee roaster!), a commemorative glass, and an overall good time!
The large variety of beverages being sampled will feature flowers, honey, & fruit as a nod to Old Bakery’s effort to educate about and celebrate the importance of insect pollinators!
Tickets are $30 in advance & $35 at the door. 10% of ticket sales will be donated to the Piasa Palisades Sierra Club. Food in line with the theme will be available for purchase, and live music from The Echo Base Quartet will set the mood for the day.
Tickets are available now at the brewery and at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/buzzd-beer-festival-tickets-55298791173
