California gold rush for two Missouri wineries

Six wines from the Missouri based Augusta Wine Company won honors at the prestigious Pacific Rim International Wine Competition including three gold medals, two silver, a bronze, and a “best of class” award.

The awards were received by Augusta, which consists of Augusta and Montelle wineries during the two day competition last month in Southern California. At the annual competition, 30 wine experts conduct a blind evaluation of nearly 2,000 wines.  This event has been setting standards for judging of fine wines since 1985.

Augusta Wine Company received six awards total between wines submitted from Augusta Winery and Montelle Winery, the most prestigious of these being Best of Class and Gold for the Augusta Winery’s 2013 Norton.

Augusta Winery’s wines are served year round in their tasting room, located in downtown Augusta and on the outdoor terrace of their Wine & Beer Garden April through October.
