The Legacy of Abraxas: Unveiling BA Vietnamese Abraxas

Abraxas

In the world of St. Louis craft beer, few names command the kind of respect and admiration that Abraxas does. For those new to the scene, Abraxas is Perennial Artisan Ales’ crown jewel, an imperial stout that has captivated beer lovers since its debut. This beer is no ordinary stout—it’s a flavor-packed experience that challenges and delights the palate with its unique blend of ancho chili peppers, cacao nibs, cinnamon sticks, and the richness of whiskey barrels.

But Abraxas isn’t just about bold flavors; it’s about tradition and innovation coming together in perfect harmony. This year, Perennial is taking that legacy one step further with BA Vietnamese Abraxas. In collaboration with CLAG Brewing Company in Sandusky, Ohio, a special twist has been added: Vietnamese coffee. This addition, along with the familiar yet beloved flavors of ancho chilis, Saigon cinnamon, Indonesian vanilla beans, and rich cacao nibs, has resulted in a 12.8% ABV barrel-aged stout that is truly something special.

For those who have followed the Abraxas story, each release is highly anticipated and for good reason. It’s a beer that has evolved over the years but has never lost its soul—the rich, warming, and slightly spicy profile that made it a standout from the very beginning.
