I’ve heard it all and you probably have too; people have many views on pumpkin beer. Some love it while others hate it. While I don’t hate any type of beer, I have even created fall beer previews that specifically did not include pumpkin beers. So, with that said, I am very intrigued by the newest release from Schlafly Beer.
Along with their annual release of the seasonal Pumpkin Ale (8.0% ABV), the brewery is debuting a new extension beer, Vanilla Pumpkin Ale (8.0% ABV). Both beers will be available across in both 6-packs and cases of 12-ounce bottles.
“Pumpkin Ale continues to be a growth performer beer in our portfolio,” said Schlafly CEO David Schlafly. “While other breweries might have abandoned the style, we’re confident in the exceptional quality of our Pumpkin Ale but we always want to continue to evolve so this year, we are introducing Vanilla Pumpkin Ale as well. It’s something familiar yet new for our loyal Pumpkin Ale fans to enjoy.”
Vanilla Pumpkin Ale
If you’re a St. Louis beer aficionado who thinks you’ve tasted a locally brewed Vanilla Pumpkin Ale before, you’re right. The now-defunct O’Fallon Brewery was among the few to craft this unique ale. Schlafly’s version tantalizes the palate with notes of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. True to Schlafly’s form, they enhance this seasonal favorite with a splash of vanilla, adding a creamy sweetness that perfectly balances the spices.
Six-packs of Pumpkin Ale and Vanilla Pumpkin Ale are $13.99 suggested retail price.
