Last October we reported that 4 Hands Brewing Co. is expanding its current location at 1220 S. Eighth St. in St. Louis’ La Salle Park neighborhood after acquiring the space occupied by The Pump Shop, with a plan for a beer garden as well as new use for the indoor space for manufacturing, storage and office space. Now, we’ve learned the brewing company is expanding again. This time to Chesterfield.
4 Hands is opening its second location this summer at The District. The new location will feature a 10,000 square foot tasting room that will feel like a second home to beer fans familiar with their La Salle park tasting rooms as it will feature 25 draft offerings including year-round and seasonal beers and hard seltzers, 1220 Spirits cocktails and Withered Oak blended whiskey.
The expansion will also feature a free family-friendly arcade area. The second location at The District will include a private event space with an oversized patio and a kitchen featuring menu items from culinary partner Hi-Pointe Drive-In just steps away from The Hub, an outdoor event and gathering area.
The District is a dynamic entertainment destination that already boasts a live music venue, The Factory, an art gallery, event spaces, sports experiences such as Topgolf and a social pickleball concept coming later this year, The Real Dill, a family entertainment destination, Main Event and more.
“I’m excited to expand westward not only because The Staenberg Group is creating a one-of-a- kind, family friendly experience in Chesterfield, but also because I grew up in the area and it feels good to open a location back in my childhood neighborhood. While we remain hyper passionate and committed to the City of St. Louis, this opportunity fits perfectly with our growth strategy,” said 4 Hands Founder Kevin Lemp.
4 Hands’ new location is slated for a summer opening.
“We’re excited to bring the Hi-Pointe energy to Chesterfield,” says Hi-Pointe co-owner Ben Hillman. We’ve been collaborating with Kevin and the 4 Hands team since we started Hi-Pointe and we’re ready to take the partnership to the next level in a shared space. Chesterfield should get ready for some crazy specials paired with the best beer in St. Louis,” Hillman says. Since opening in 2017, Hi-Pointe has opened five standalone locations with two more on the way.
Kevin Lemp added, “We’re looking forward to working with Mike, Ben and their team to create this new space together as we’ve long held a mutual respect and admiration for each other and the businesses we’ve built to serve the St. Louis community.”
“4 Hands is a staple in the St. Louis community and we are thrilled for their expansion to The District,” said Michael Staenberg, President of The Staenberg Group. “A key component to what we are hoping to create at The District, specifically as it relates to The Hub, is to pull our St. Louis favorites all together in one place.”
4 Hands will anchor The Hub, The Staenberg Group’s $4M centerpiece of The District. This outdoor event and gathering space will feature a pavilion, LED screen and stage and the venue’s turf viewing field will be surrounded by sit-down restaurants with outdoor patios facing inward towards one another, creating one, synergetic area.
Construction of The Hub is slated to be completed by this spring, The Staenberg Group said.
