Third Wheel releasing She Is Power 2021 IPA.
Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day® was born from the group’s desire to take part in International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8th by raising the profile of women’s roles in the beer industry. From that, chapters around the country, including right here in St. Louis got together along with supporting breweries and individuals, put on their pink boots, and brewed their chosen beer style.
One of the participating breweries is Third Wheel Brewing in St. Peter’s. Their beer, She Is Power 2021 is available on draft right now in the taproom and in cans now! A limited amount of is available around St. Louis County. Proceeds of the beer go towards Pink Boots Society whose mission is to assist, inspire, and encourage women in the fermented/alcoholic beverage industry to advance their careers through education.
The Beer
Although all participating breweries created their own recipes, all include the same hops. This year that hop is Yakima Chief Hop. With that Hop in play, Third Wheel decided to brew a straightforward IPA, with no extra adjuncts, nothing fancy, just a damn tasty IPA featuring the YCH Pink Boots hop blend.
The Name
She Is Power is a non-profit apparel company that empowers women and boosts self-esteem through clothing and by working with social justice organizations to benefit women. They’ve graciously allowed Third Wheel Brewing to use the name for their beer again this year.
The Label Art
The brewery worked with their friends at Public Art Co. for the label artwork. The idea is to really bring a lot of attention to the beer’s name, She Is Power 2021, and highlight the bright pink color Pink Boots is known for. The floral, tattoo-like motif plays along with some of the brewery’s newer label artwork.
Tasting Notes
On The Sip – At first, tropical and citrus notes hit the palate. Then, a burst of woodsy, earthy hop flavor follows. The Pink Boots hop blend is beautifully balanced by a bready malt character.
