Today in St. Louis drinking | May 26, 2020

Here is what I found today that every beer and whiskey lover in St. Louis needs to know.

It truly is a hazy new world

… If you have followed my writing, you know I’m very open about my love of the New England Style IPA, and more so, what our local breweries are doing with this style. Today, we learned about a new beer, that I hope becomes a staple in my beer fridge. It appears, 4 Hands in collaboration with Schnucks stores is releasing Twilight Fog.

Back Open For Business

… One of my favorite places to buy whiskey is back open! Today, The Wine and Cheese Place is welcoming customers back into their stores.

We kindly request that you help keep us safe by wearing a mask and by practicing social distancing.  If you are uncomfortable coming into the store or wearing a face a covering, we are continuing to offer “no-touch” curbside delivery.

Store hours will now be from 10 am to 7 pm, Monday to Saturday.  The Clayton location on Forsyth Blvd. will be open on Sundays from 10 am to 3 pm.

Introducing: The Take & Taste!

… While the tasting room at the Pinckney Bend Distillery in New Haven, Missouri, remains closed, the distillery has created an all-new experience. It’s an all-in-one, take-it-where-you-want kit that has everything you need to have your own tasting experience. The kit includes:
  • A Souvenir Tasting Glass
  • 12oz can of their perfect Gin & Tonic
  • (5) Pre-poured, numbered samples – depending on which flight you pick
  • A Taste-Along guide

Choose from:

This flight is best for beginners or those new to this distillery and includes a highlight reel of American Vodka, Corn Whiskey, Rested American Whiskey, Apple Ambush and American Gin.

Whiskey Flight
Best for…well people who like whiskey. Includes Pinckney Bend’s various styles of Rested American Whiskey, Sherry Cask Whiskey, Seasonal Heirloom Boone County White, Seasonal Heirloom Tennesse Red Cob and Apple Ambush. Time To Change It up

Curb Side Update

Narrow Gauge has added two more beers to its online menu. Meerzalz (Red Currant) a fruited Gose, coming in at 4.8% ABV and 10 IBU and Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right BA, An Imperial IPA triple dry-hopped with Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy and Nelson Sauvin. You can purchase both in 4-packs of 16oz cans.

… Right now, Earthbound is offering 11 beers online, all available for pickup at their window. They also have Tamales from The Tamale Man at $3 a pop, available at the window if you stop by. Of note, one of my personal favorites, the very session-able All-Purpose Pilz, a Polish style pilsner. 4.2% abv.

… Over in Alton, Old Bakery Beer has a full slate of beers, wine, spirits, and assorted grocery items available online for pick up. On the current beer menu, are a few favorites including Blueberry Cream Ale and Citrus Wheat.

That’s it for now. I hope you found this informative.
