Today’s Writing Brewery T-shirt: Urban Chestnut Brewing Company

Here is what I found today that every beer and whiskey lover in St. Louis needs to know.

Here comes the sun!

… It was was a long, rainy day in St. Louis Wednesday, but 2nd Shift Brewing ain’t having any of it. Today, they tried to bring a little sunshine back into our lives. Today they announced fresh Sunny Cat rolling off the canning line today. Brewed with oats, lactose, Amarillo & Citra hops, and dried tangerine peel, this beer is tasty, and one of my favorites of locally produced New England IPA’s. It will be available for curbside pick up this week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and for delivery on Friday and Saturday between 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Order Here!

… But, 2nd Shift wasn’t done today. Just as I was typing this out, they announced that Bridget, was now available online for curbside pickup & delivery – Bridget is a 6 month aged Foeder Brett beer, which is then aged for an additional 3 months on Pink Guava puree. Tart, funky with a lovely fruity sweetness. Available in 4pk 12 .oz cans.

Then the sun slips into darkness

4 Hands Brewing continues to find ways to keep busy and their fans drinking. Today, they announced a special limited release of Slipping Into Darkness, with Black Currant and Raspberry. This rare treat will be available in crowlers for curbside pick up!

This a very big beer folks, 12% ABV. An Imperial Stout aged in Elijah Craig Bourbon barrels and is loaded with Tanzanian Cacao nibs with the addition of black currant and raspberry. Available now to order online for curbside pick-up!

??Tired of the same old brew?!??

… Have you given mead a shot yet? Well, if not, perhaps it’s the time because we happen to have one of the best I’ve ever tried right in our area. Here’s the amazing backstory of Four Brothers Mead, but in the meantime, their menu of mead is ready for consumption and is available both online, and at their Meadery in Festus MO., or at all three Missouri Friar Tuck locations.

Support Your Local Bottle Shop

… Recently a fellow Reddit user asked about some of the best liquor stores that featured a good selection of local beers. That reminded me that if even though we want to support our local breweries, we need to think about the locally owned bottle shops as well. Each day, I’ll feature one, with a smattering of what they’re offering and links to their online stores.

Saint Louis Hop Shop is located in south St. Louis, at the corner of Jefferson and Cherokee Street. Here you can mix singles, 4 packs, 6 packs, and there is no limit to what you can purchase. They even now carry some wine and spirits. You will even have the option to set a PICK UP WINDOW so you can schedule your arrival more conveniently! PAY ONLINE or PAY HERE!
