Schlafly continues Cellar Series with debut of Smoked Stout

I’ve always believed beer is best enjoyed with friends and family.  This is not a new thought, but when you think about it, drinking good beer with good company and good conversation can make the beer almost whimsical in its lasting effect on the occasion.

My friend, Schlafly Ambassador Brewer Stephen Hale says their newest release Smoked Stout was brewed with this exact thought in mind.  “Our Cellar Beers are meant to be conversation pieces. It was a 2017 goal to expand our offerings of unique, larger format beers and encourage guests to enjoy and share the beers with friends.”

Sounds like it’s time gather your group together.

Today, Schlafly Beer introduced Smoked Stout as a continuation of the brewery’s Cellar Series, the Smoked Stout joins Baltic Porter as the first two releases of the 2017 series.

Smoked Stout | ABV: 9.5% | IBU 45

This beer pours jet black and offers up a full-bodied, flavorful stout.  A bit on the hoppy side and boasts hints of chocolate. After the barley is malted, it’s smoked with beechwood, which adds an roasted aroma to the finished beer.

“The Smoked Stout is exactly what you want to be drinking this time of year. Robust and rich, the appropriate amount of hops provide balance while the Belgian crystal malt and German smoked malt lend complexity,” said Hale.

The Smoked Stout will be available for purchase in the 750 ml bottles for a suggested retail price of $13.99 across the brewery’s distribution region. The beer will also be available in bottles at both the Schlafly Tap Room and Bottleworks as well as available on draft or for growler purchases.

What’s Next?
