Signage is up around the future site of the recently announced 1764 Public House.
If memory serves, the Gamlin Restaurant Group’s new venture will take over the long abandoned location that once housed Hershel’s Deli at the corner of Euclid Ave. and West Pine Blvd. To my recollection, when Hershel’s closed in the late 80’s, early 90s nothing ever took over the space.
About time.
“1764 Public House will offer the casual, upscale environment that our guests have come to expect with our establishments while also bringing something new to the neighborhood,” said Gamlin Restaurant Group Proprietor Lucas Gamlin. “We want this to be a destination point in St. Louis, no matter what time day or night.”
1764 will honor the history and resurgence of St. Louis and the Central West End neighborhood. There will be St. Louis influences woven throughout the restaurant paying tribute to the year the city was founded. A sampling of menu items will include some modern twists on local favorites.
As far at the beer program, we have reached out to the Gamlin’s and as soon as we hear back, we will publish!
