12 Beers of Christmas: A festive flight worth chasing at St. Nicholas Brewing Company

Every brewery has its holiday tradition, but St. Nicholas Brewing Company has turned its 12 Beers of Christmas into one of the most joyful and slightly chaotic beer rituals in the region. This is when St. Nick flips the calendar to November and transforms its Chester taproom into a holiday tasting adventure. Twelve small-batch beers. Four themed weekly drops. Zero chance you’re leaving without a story.

The rhythm is simple. Starting on Black Friday, St. Nicholas rolls out three new Christmas beers every Friday and retires the previous trio. Chester gets them a day early since the taproom only opens Thursday through Sunday, which gives the whole thing an insider feel. And because these beers are limited, they’re strictly served in twelve-ounce snifters. No pints. No fills. The rules keep things moving and the small-batch magic intact.

There’s a challenge, too. When you order your first Week 1 beer, you get the punch card. Each unique beer earns you a punch, up to three per week. Complete the full dozen and you snag a free one-year Mug Club membership. It’s a fun prize, but the real reward is tasting your way through St. Nick’s most playful brews of the year.

The lineup has range. Week 1 kicks off with Cranberry Blonde and Cinnamon Milk Stout before dropping the curveball: Yaba Daba Brew, a Fruity Pebbles-style lager. Week 2 brings Strawberry Rhubarb Blonde, Peanut Butter Milk Stout and a seasonal wildcard, Pumpkin Oktoberfest. Week 3 leans fully into a deconstructed S’mores theme with Graham Cracker Lager, Marshmallow Milk Stout and Extra Chocolate Milk Stout. Week 4 wraps it all with Pomegranate Blonde, Black Cherry Lager and Coconut Porter.

Why try it? Because St. Nicholas Brewing Company treats holiday beer like a celebration, and the 12 Beers of Christmas is your chance to join in before each week’s flavors disappear for good.
