Flybye farmhouse ale returns to Logboat Brewing taproom

The farmhouse ale fans have been waiting for is back. Flybye, a small-batch farmhouse ale brewed by Logboat Brewing in Columbia, Missouri, has returned to the taproom—but only for a limited time. First brewed as a special release for Logboat’s second anniversary, this crisp, citrusy beer has become a seasonal favorite among locals and visitors to the Columbia Missouri brewery scene. If you’ve been missing it, now’s your chance.

Flybye farmhouse ale brewed with Belgian yeast and classic malts

Originally brewed for their second anniversary, Flybye is a farmhouse ale that quickly became a fan favorite. Fermented with a Belgian yeast strain sourced from the Wallonian region of Belgium, it offers bright citrus notes, subtle herbal complexity, and a touch of that classic farmhouse funk. The beer is brewed with a malt bill of Pilsner and wheat malts, along with Crystal and Hersbrucker hops, creating a balance of grain sweetness and herbal bitterness.

Flybye finishes smooth and dry, making it a perfect pint for spring weather. The yeast profile lends soft phenolic notes and bright fruitiness without being overly sour or heavy—a hallmark of well-crafted farmhouse ales.

Columbia Missouri brewery revives small-batch favorite

Logboat Brewing originally created Flybye as a special anniversary release but quickly learned how much the community loved it. The beer disappeared for a while but has made limited returns over the years, always brewed on their pilot system and available exclusively on draft at the taproom.

This latest small-batch release of Flybye is on tap now, but only for a short time. Once the kegs kick, it could be another year—or longer—before it returns.
