Creek hazy pale ale returns to Millpond Brewing

Fans of hazy pale ales have a reason to celebrate—Creek, the first hazy pale ale in the “Body of Water” series from Millpond Brewing, is back on draft in Millstadt, Illinois. First introduced in 2021, this juicy, hop-forward beer quickly became a local favorite. Now, after a long break, the Illinois brewery has brought it back to the taproom for a limited time.

Millpond Brewing hazy pale ale returns with juicy hop profile

Creek was first brewed in June 2021 as part of Millpond Brewing’s creatively named “Body of Water” series, which includes New England-style IPAs and pale ales. The idea behind the series was to pair larger bodies of water with IPAs and smaller ones with pale ales—hence, Creek.

The beer itself is double dry-hopped with Citra and Nelson Sauvin hops, delivering bright, fruit-forward flavors. Expect notes of lychee, orange, sweet tropical fruit, and a soft, hazy mouthfeel. Creek’s malt bill mirrors earlier releases in the series, including Reservoir and Cenote, using the same NE IPA water profile and yeast strain designed to emphasize fruit and citrus hop character. A slightly higher mash temperature lends the beer a touch of residual sweetness and a rounder, juicier finish.

Illinois brewery’s “Body of Water” series brings back Creek

Millpond Brewing opened in Millstadt, Illinois, with the goal of creating small-batch, innovative beers for their community. The “Body of Water” series is one of their signature projects, drawing inspiration from the local history of Millstadt’s millpond and the role it played in the community.

Creek is available now, draft-only, at the brewery’s taproom. It won’t be around long, so if you’re a fan of hazy, fruit-forward pale ales, it’s worth the visit.
