Missouri based ‘Macadoodles’ beer, wine and spirits store making its St. Louis are debut

With 13 stores already operating in three neighboring states, Macadoodles, the Missouri-based beer, wine and spirits retailer, is finally arriving in the St. Louis region. Its area location is opening Nov. 15 in Dardenne Prairie. With roots across Missouri in cities like Columbia, Joplin and Springfield, Macadoodles has built a reputation on exceptional selection, knowledgeable service and community-focused experiences.

Athlete-Owned and Local at Heart

What gives this new Macadoodles store a unique twist is its ownership. Managing partner Mike McKenna, a former NHL goalie, has teamed up with Tom Kaiman, a former AHL player and founder of Mia Rose Holdings, as well as Jim Cook and his son Brady Cook, the starting quarterback for Mizzou.

“We’re incredibly excited to be part of this community,” McKenna says. “Macadoodles is Missouri… and Macadoodles is fun!”

The Beer

At Macadoodles, beer lovers will find something for every taste.

“We have everything from Ukrainian craft beer to camo pack Busch Light and everything in between,” McKenna says.

Known for their “Beer Room,” which boasts more than 600 different options, local beer lovers will find favorites like Schlafly, Narrow Gauge and many others prominently featured in a build-your-own pack section.

The mission, according to McKenna, is simple but ambitious: “Our goal is to provide the ultimate selection. If we don’t have it, we’ll get it for our customers.”

The Spirits

The spirits section at Macadoodles is equally focused on both local and national offerings.

“Missouri and Illinois are growing in terms of quality spirit makers, and we’re happy to feature them,” McKenna explains. Local names like Old Monroe, Ben Holladay and Planter’s are among his personal favorites. On the national front, Macadoodles is committed to ensuring fair prices, even for hard-to-get, allocated bottles.

“We’re not going to price gouge our valued customers,” McKenna emphasizes. “We want everyone to have a fair crack at getting the juice they want.”

The Wine

Wine enthusiasts will be thrilled with the store’s “Wine Cellar,” which features more than 2,500 labels from around the world.

“Wine is a passion at Macadoodles,” McKenna says. “We have everything from high-end, collector-worthy wines to the everyday drinkers people crave.”

The store focuses on offering $10-$25 bottles that can’t be found in big-box stores.

“We don’t have our own label to push, so our only agenda is sharing wines we love ourselves,” he adds. Local Missouri wines, including varieties like vignoles and norton, also have a strong presence.

Customer-First Approach

Macadoodles is also known for making sure customers have the opportunity to taste before they buy.

“We do free in-store tastings daily, both in wine and spirits,” McKenna says. This hands-on approach is paired with a knowledgeable staff that prides itself on exceptional customer service. “Our staff knows what they’re talking about, and we’re a passionate group here at Macadoodles,” he adds.

Customers can also join the Macadoodles loyalty program, allowing them to accrue two points for every $1 spent.

“We have two levels of rewards, Silver and Gold. A Silver Program customer receives a 3% reward benefit. Once a customer has accumulated 10,000 points, they will move to the Gold Program,” McKenna says. “Gold Program customers receive a 5% reward benefit. All points go toward in-store purchases. We love to reward our loyal customers!”

The Grand Opening

The grand opening celebration will be held on Nov. 15 at 1555 Bryan Road, with special events throughout the weekend. Guests can pose for photos with a Budweiser Clydesdale on opening day from 3 to 5 p.m. The fun continues on Nov. 16 with a special appearance by Clownvis, who will be promoting his own Clownvis beer, brewed by 4 Hands Brewing Co.

With plans to host tastings featuring local brands like 4 Hands, Nobleton’s and Logboat, Macadoodles is committed to collaborating with the local beverage scene.

“We’re working with Missouri-based beer and spirits companies to create barrel picks and custom brews for our location,” McKenna says. “As a Missouri-owned and operated company, we’re very excited to showcase local brands and grow together in the St. Louis market.”
