Missouri Strong: Barleywine Unveiled in Newest Collaboration Release – Coming October 2

Missouri beer lovers, the wait is almost over! The third installment of Missouri Loves Company®, part of the Missouri Strong series, is set to launch on Wednesday, October 2. This highly anticipated Barleywine-style Ale, brewed at Side Project Brewing in St. Louis, is the latest in the series of four “strong ales” created by the Missouri Craft Brewers Guild. The Barleywine will be available in 4-packs of 12-ounce cans at participating breweries across Missouri. And remember—once it’s gone, it’s gone!

This 10% ABV Barleywine is brewed with Helios and Delta hops from Hopsteiner, featuring a Pale Ale malt bill supplied by Malteurop Malting Company. Heritage English Ale yeast from Pinnacle Brewers Yeast adds depth and complexity to the brew. With its dark, malty character and intense flavor profile, this Barleywine is perfect for sipping by a fall bonfire. As Sherry Wohlgemuth, Executive Director of the Missouri Craft Brewers Guild, said: “We are Missouri Strong, and our collaboration beers this year are strong, too. All of the beers brewed in this series are 10% ABV or above.”

A Statewide Collaboration

The Missouri Loves Company® series highlights the collaboration and camaraderie that define Missouri’s craft brewing community. Brewers from across the state contributed to this beer’s creation, working together through video conferences to dial in the recipe. Each brew in the Missouri Strong series represents the strength and unity of Missouri’s brewers, and this Barleywine is no exception.

Proceeds from the sale of this beer will support the Missouri Craft Brewers Guild, helping to advocate for the craft beer industry at both state and federal levels and promote independent craft brewers in Missouri.
