Chocolate Milk Stout is back and in 16 oz cans

One of my favorite all-time stouts is back. 4 Hands Brewing’s Chocolate Milk Stout quickly became a St. Louis winter beer classic when it debuted back in 2012.  This beer tastes just like one would expect if you mixed a tall, creamy glass of chocolate milk with your favorite beer.  It’s really that simple really.

This beer pours black and smooth and quickly rewards with bursts of chocolate as you would expect.  It’s sweet, but not too sweet, which makes a second and third or more approachable.

That and the fact that at 5.5% ABV, your hibernation drinking session can go on pretty deep with this one.  Not be missed.

This also means you can start anticipating a new Chocolate Milk Stout Value Pack soon. The winter favorite usually is release in November, so I’ve already reached out to the brewery to find out what can be expected this year. Meanwhile, here is look back at some of the past CMS Value packs.

The 2020 / 21 Chocolate Milk Stout Variety Pack

This year’s edition features three new tastes based on 4 Hands love of cookies, or more specficially Girl Scout Cookies.

The 2019 Chocolate Milk Stout Variety Pack

Last year’s variety pack will be forever remembered in my house as the “Italian One.” For me thes stand out was the Cannoli Milk Stout.

      • Tiramisu Milk Stout
      • Panna Cotta White Ale
      • Cannoli Milk Stout & a 15oz Panna Cotta patterned glass

The 2018 Chocolate Milk Stout Variety Pack

I rate the 2018 edition as my favorite. I thought the variant choices here all were strong. The experiment I remember conducting was a side by side. I descovered that the banana foster was the most dominant of the flavors, so I concluded that a Mudcake, Cherrie, and Banana provided the best drinking experience in order.

  • 22oz bottle of Mississippi Mud Cake Milk Stout
  • 22oz bottle of Cherry Milk Stout
  • 22oz bottle of Banana’s Foster Milk Stout

The 2017 Chocolate Milk Stout Variety Pack

2017 was the year where three variants released in the past three years, made a re-appearence, including Gingerbread, in back-to-back years.

  • 22oz bottle of Blackberry Milk Stout
  • 22oz bottle of Gingerbread Chocolate Milk Stout
  • 22oz bottle of Ticki CMS (chocolate, coffee, coconut)

The 2016 Chocolate Milk Stout Variety Pack

I remember being very excited for the release in 2016. I went in thinking S’mores would be my instant favorite, but it was the Gingerbread Chocolate Milk Stout that was my surprise favorite.

  • 22oz bottle of Chocolate Milk Stout,
  • 22oz bottle of S’mores Chocolate Milk Stout
  • 22oz bottle of Gingerbread Chocolate Milk Stout

The 2015 Chocolate Milk Stout Variety Pack

Released on November 16, this Chocolate Milk Stout Variety Pack, was the only way to get bottles of the vairants. I thought the Horchata was a win, and hope that it comes back again.

  • 22oz bottle of Chocolate Milk Stout
  • 22oz bottle of Horchata CMS (vanilla & cinnamon)
  • 22oz bottle of Ticki CMS (chocolate, coffee, coconut) and a collectors edition Tiki CMS mason jar glass
