Regular readers know my affinity for the Hazy. And while I am noticing a surge in Hazy “hate,” I remain true to my taste buds, which really enjoy this style. With that in mind, I’m happy to announce the news that Schlafly Beer is releasing a new seasonal beer, Hazy Punch IPA (6% ABV).
Brewed with Eclipse, Citra, and Mosaic hops, this beer is designed for summer. It’s hazy, juicy, fruity, and hoppy. The beer packs a punch with hops that lend juiciness to the hazy brew and is further amplified with the addition of Cara Cara Oranges and pineapple.
âThis beer celebrates the future of Schlaflyâs approach to design and packaging,â says Schlafly CEO, Fran Caradonna. âNot only will it come from our new canning line, but it showcases a colorful and vibrant design, which is something that customers will see from us more this year – both for seasonal releases and with Schlafly staple beers.â

If this seems odd to see a new summer seasonal from Schlafly, you’re not wrong. Hazy Punch IPA (6% ABV) is the first new summer style that Schlafly has released in recent years.
âThis beer is several years in the making and has quite the backstory on Schlaflyâs efforts to stay at the forefront of new and experimental hops,â says Schlafly Lead Brewer Jared Williamson. âIt features the newest hop variety from Australia, Eclipse, and the yet-to-be-named experimental hop HBC-586 from Yakima, along with well-known Citra and Mosaic. The flavor bursting hops offer juicy notes of mandarin and other citrus flavors.â
Hazy Punch IPA is another beer off Schlaflyâs new canning line which expands the functionality and performance of its canning capabilities. The beer releases to consumers on Monday, May 2, 2022 in 6-packs of 12-oz cans.
