Piney River Brewing celebrates GABF win with release of Old Tom Porter

Old Tom Porter, an English-style porter from Piney River Brewing Company, has just been released to the public following its recent bronze medal win at the 2024 Great American Beer FestivalÂŽ (GABF) in Denver. Recognized in the “brown porter” category, this dark, full-bodied ale is known for its roasted malt notes with hints of chocolate and coffee, balanced by a smooth hop finish.

This award marks the second GABF win for Old Tom Porter, which first won gold in 2013. “We’re incredibly proud of our team’s dedication to quality and consistency,” said Brian Durham, head brewer and co-founder of Piney River. “This win celebrates our team’s hard work and commitment to great brewing.”

Old Tom Porter: The beer

Brewed with water straight from the Ozarks, Old Tom Porter reflects Piney River’s connection to its Missouri roots, symbolized by the wild turkey on its label. Perfect for pairing with grilled meats or even as a topping over vanilla ice cream, this beer offers a taste of the Ozarks in every sip.

Piney River’s Fall on the Farm celebration turned into a toast to Old Tom Porter’s success, with fans and locals gathering at the brewery to mark the win. “Winning never gets old,” added Joleen Senter Durham, co-founder. “It’s always exciting to bring recognition to Bucyrus.”

Old Tom Porter is now available throughout Missouri and Arkansas, ready for beer enthusiasts to enjoy.
