Brews, Blooms, and Beers: Civil Life hosts native ‘Plant Bash’ this April

If there’s anything St. Louis does right, it’s pairing a good pint with a great cause—and the folks at Civil Life Brewing Company are at it again. On Saturday, April 19, from 3 to 6 p.m., South City’s favorite pub will play host to the second annual Brews & Blooms, a native plant-themed shindig brought to you by the Grow Native! program of the Missouri Prairie Foundation.

Now, before you ask—no, this isn’t a “plant sale with a cash bar.” This is full-on education meets craft beer in the most St. Louis way possible. Think: local experts chatting about native plants, pollinators, and even songbirds—all while you’re nursing one of Civil Life’s smooth, balanced brews. It’s like a science fair, but with better hops.

And yes, there’s a free native plant giveaway (one per household, while supplies last), plus dreamy displays of container gardens that might just convince you to finally do something with that neglected porch planter. You’ll also be able to pick up some locally made Grow Native! garden signs and merch, all while soaking in Civil Life’s cozy, neighborhood vibes.
