If thereâs anything St. Louis does right, itâs pairing a good pint with a great causeâand the folks at Civil Life Brewing Company are at it again. On Saturday, April 19, from 3 to 6 p.m., South Cityâs favorite pub will play host to the second annual Brews & Blooms, a native plant-themed shindig brought to you by the Grow Native! program of the Missouri Prairie Foundation.
Now, before you askâno, this isnât a âplant sale with a cash bar.â This is full-on education meets craft beer in the most St. Louis way possible. Think: local experts chatting about native plants, pollinators, and even songbirdsâall while you’re nursing one of Civil Lifeâs smooth, balanced brews. Itâs like a science fair, but with better hops.
Brews & Blooms
And yes, thereâs a free native plant giveaway (one per household, while supplies last), plus dreamy displays of container gardens that might just convince you to finally do something with that neglected porch planter. Youâll also be able to pick up some locally made Grow Native! garden signs and merch, all while soaking in Civil Lifeâs cozy, neighborhood vibes.
Jake Hafner, Civil Lifeâs owner and ever the community cheerleader, puts it best: âWe invite everyone to enjoy a beverage or a meal while learning about native landscaping.â Translation: bring your curiosity and your appetite.
No ticket. No RSVP. Just show up ready to sip, learn, and maybe leave with a new leafy friend.
