If thereās anything St. Louis does right, itās pairing a good pint with a great causeāand the folks at Civil Life Brewing Company are at it again. On Saturday, April 19, from 3 to 6 p.m., South Cityās favorite pub will play host to the second annual Brews & Blooms, a native plant-themed shindig brought to you by the Grow Native! program of the Missouri Prairie Foundation.
Now, before you askāno, this isnāt a āplant sale with a cash bar.ā This is full-on education meets craft beer in the most St. Louis way possible. Think: local experts chatting about native plants, pollinators, and even songbirdsāall while you’re nursing one of Civil Lifeās smooth, balanced brews. Itās like a science fair, but with better hops.
Brews & Blooms
And yes, thereās a free native plant giveaway (one per household, while supplies last), plus dreamy displays of container gardens that might just convince you to finally do something with that neglected porch planter. Youāll also be able to pick up some locally made Grow Native! garden signs and merch, all while soaking in Civil Lifeās cozy, neighborhood vibes.
Jake Hafner, Civil Lifeās owner and ever the community cheerleader, puts it best: āWe invite everyone to enjoy a beverage or a meal while learning about native landscaping.ā Translation: bring your curiosity and your appetite.
No ticket. No RSVP. Just show up ready to sip, learn, and maybe leave with a new leafy friend.
