A GoFundMe page has been launched to help the family of Corina Mager, a beloved figure in the St. Louis brewing community, cover medical bills and funeral expenses following her passing this month. Mager, an integral part of Shoehorn Brewing, had faced significant health struggles in recent years, which placed a heavy financial burden on her family.
Shoehorn Brewing, where Mager worked and was a cherished member, announced the fundraising effort on their Facebook page, noting that Mager “never met a stranger” and was known for her kindness, love, and ability to bring people together. The brewery shared that, with the familyâs blessing, they are asking for donations to ease the financial strain.
Mager, who was well-known in the local Illinois homebrewing scene, is survived by her husband Jeff, son Mason, and daughter Alyssa, described as her “mini me and bestie.”
Shoehorn Brewing reflected on the void her passing leaves in both the brewery and the wider community. “As her husband eloquently put it, she’s leaving an immense void in the local community,” the brewery shared. Magerâs contributions to the brewing scene and her vibrant personality had touched many in the industry.
Condolences have been pouring in from across the craft beer community. Carrie Closterman, a fellow brewer, remembered Mager for her infectious smile and love for IPAs, saying, “She always had the brightest smile and never turned down a good IPA.”
The GoFundMe effort, originally organized to support Mager during her health struggles, has now shifted focus to help her family in this time of needâ.
