How to make a Rob Roy like your grandfather

How to make a Rob Roy like your grandfather

I love the image depicted in old, black and white movies from the early 20th century of a man coming home around 5:30 p.m. after a solid 8 hours at the office. He enters his home, hangs up his hat, and begins his unwind with a frothy cocktail.  Boy, those movies made cocktails look good.

Cocktails have been back in vogue for years, and making them at home has never been more popular. My social feed is literally filled with posts on new Keurig like cocktail makers and cocktail ingredient delivery services.  They are all great, I’m sure, but there is still something romantic about just making a cocktail the old fashioned way.

Also in my feed today, from Liqour.com, the recipe for a perfect Rob Roy

The Rob Roy

This recipe is similar to the beloved Manhattan, but uses Scotch instead of rye whiskey and Angostura bitters instead of aromatic bitters. The difference is delicious—try it for yourself.

Glass: Cocktail
