I’m starting to get over my fear of wine and as I do, I’m finding that quite a few of my favorite beer and wine sellers are bringing in some very approachable wine folks that can make the process of understanding and appreciating wine even easier.
I know what I like, most of the time. But for me, wine is really about exploring. I’d rather not continue to buy only what I like, but rather keep moving around and trying more and more different kinds of wine, and different wineries.
On September 21st, Luka’s is using technology bring Greg Harrington, Wine Maker at Gramercy Cellars to St. Louis. Greg, in the late ’90’s, became the youngest Master Sommelier in the world. In his past life, he has worked for some of the best restaurants in the world.
Gramercy Cellars was founded in 2005 by Harrington and his wife, Pam, to make Rhone and Bordeaux style wines in Washington State. Their wines display balance, intense fruit, strong earthiness, restraint, and elegance. His wines have quickly gained praise from critics and consumers alike.
Prior to founding Gramercy, Harrington spent his career overseeing some of the most prestigious wine programs in the country working for top restaurants and chefs such as Joyce Goldstein, Emeril Lagasse, Wolfgang Puck, and Stephen Hanson.
Since passing the Master Sommelier Diploma Exam at the age of 26, Harrington has been passionate about making wine.
Combining his restaurant experience and passion he produces some of the finest wines from Washington.
During this visit, Harrington will share this passion via Facetime to taste through his stellar collection of wines. It’s not everyday that a winemaker of his skill or knowledge will be able to answer your questions while educating the audience on what makes his wines so special. Do not miss out on this wonderful opportunity to sample some of our finest wines with a very talented winemaker.
Tickets for this event are available online and cost $30.00.
