City Museum celebrating beer all September long! Here’s what to know

I have to admit, I haven’t been to the City Museum in a solid decade. I also have to admit that as a seasoned empty nester with kids off to college, the idea of heading downtown to the City Museum is not something I have thought about. But, that said, after spending $12 to $15 a beer at a recent music festival, I am all about finding value for my beer dollar, and today I learned the City Museum may be where to find that value.

Starting Friday, September 1, and running each weekend during the month, the City Museum is inviting beer lovers to come down for the month-long celebration of International and Craft Beer Month.

The Deal

Each weekend, The City Museum is highlighting a different beer theme, which will also include related food and entertainment. To navigate the themes, they are selling beer passports for $20 which includes six 4-oz samples and a souvenir glass.

What you need to know

While the beer passport costs $20.00 and can be used each weekend while samples remain in supply, patrons will need to purchase a single-day ticket to gain entrance to the museum. Single-day tickets range from $18 (after 5 p.m.) to $20 (all day), plus tax. That math may not sound like the value I said I was looking for, but hold my beer.

I’m no math wizard, but if you are possibly planning on attending all, or more than one weekend, based on the beer calendar I list below, you may want to consider purchasing a Gold Member Pass. I’m not pushing season passes, but value is value, so for basically $40.00 due to a special they happen to be running right now, I figure I can save half on admission this year, and if this event happens again next year, I’m drinking beer on house money, minus purchasing a new passport next year. Are you following my logic?

Enough math. What about the beer?

Enough about money. You do you, but here is the lineup for what they will be offering. You’ll find a solid mix of both local and national beer on hand.
