Today’s writing brewery t-shirt: The Modern Brewery

Here is what I found this week that every beer lover in St. Louis needs to know.

NEW RELEASES

Center Ice Brewery released the latest installment in their Revolving Pale Ale Series.

Center Ice Brewery

For 003, they used New Zealand hops, so look for strong aromas of melon and citrus in this dry-hopped pale ale. At the same time, the brewery says they are still working with Mosaic hops in 004. This time they added in a healthy dose of Calypso hops to mix things up resulting in a mesmerizing blend of pine, melon, and citrus.

… Our friends at Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, announced their 2020 release, of STL Zoo Bier, in collaboration with the St. Louis Zoo. The Kölsch-style beer is available at the Zoo starting this weekend and is coming soon to grocery stores and beer retailers. The new label features the king penguin, a large, majestic-looking bird native to sub-Antarctic islands. Penguin & Puffin Coast is home to king penguins at the Zoo.

Recess Brewing

…. Edwardsville’s Recess Brewing is releasing what they describe as the ULTIMATE patio sippin, grass cuttin, sittin by the pool beer!!!? ? TROPICAL TIKI BRAINIAC!!! ? ? They took their sour wheat ale and dosed it with passionfruit, pink guava, and a dash of coconut! It is tart, tropical, and tasty!! Available on draft and in cans today at 12pm.

Six Mile Bridge has made a special release. Tropical Storm Isla IPA is the first in their new limited edition Tap Room Series. It’s brewed with mango and passion fruit. Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe hops bolster the citrus characteristics of this beer.  ABV: 7.0% IBUs: 20. Order here.

… Over at Perennial Artisan Ales, Helles is available for online ordering. This Munich Style Helles lager was brewed in collaboration with Craft Beer Cellar. Brewed with only German ingredients and lagered at chilly temps for 6 weeks before packaging. They utilized a step mash to ensure a crispy light finish, but still keep some desired body to the finished beer.

Celebrating Anyway

… This was to be the weekend 2nd Shift Brewing was to celebrate their 10 anniversary of beer making. The Annual Criderfest was canceled due to Coronavirus, but the brewery is still marking the occasion and what it stands for. Order Online here.
