As a wine enthusiast, I love to explore the shelves of wine retailers whenever I get the chance. I am always on the lookout for new locations that offer something unique and exciting to the wine community. When I first walked through the doors of Cork & Rind, I was genuinely excited because it was a brand new wine shop just around the corner from my house. After I spent some time inside, I was head over heals for what they were doing. This isn’t your average wine shop and it certainly isn’t run of the mill but what it is nothing short of a refreshing.
Cork & Rind hasn’t been open very long but they definitely have a firm idea of who they are in terms of what they want to bring to the table. The wine selection is fresh and unique. You won’t find your generic “super market” wines on their shelves. They carry mostly smaller family estate wines and little known organic and biodynamic wines. I spend a good deal of time learning about wine and grapes and they have shown me varieties that I was completely new to. This is a wine snobs wine shop without the wine snob prices. You can find some higher end wines but from my experience, you definitely get what you pay for from Cork & Rind. Some of my favorite new wines have come from their shelves.
Wine isn’t all they offer but it is definitely the featured player at Cork & Rind. You will also find a good selection of craft beers and liquors as well. This is really a fun and amazing place to waste several hours. Most of us would agree that cheese and wine go perfect together and they also have a tremendous selection of artisan cheeses that are to die for. On the weekends, you can also find a dynamite selection of delicious bread too. They really are a complete package with something for everyone and their knowledgeable and friendly staff will guide you through the process of making the perfect choice.
If you are looking to further your knowledge about wine, they offer frequent classes and seminars that are sure to cover something that you are interested in. If you are in the area, you need to do yourself a favors and head over to their location at 555 First Capitol Drive in Saint Charles, MO to discover all they have, for yourself. Spend a little time and you are sure to agree that they are a rare find.
